About Us

MCT was established with Urban Aid Funding in 1980. Our 'non-profit making' status means we invest all our funding in service improvements and putting our customers first. MCT's friendly staff are dedicated to providing service users with community transport solutions. Our customer-focussed approach allows us shape and develop our services to meet the needs of the local community. We actively welcome customer feedback as it is a valuable tool in helping us develop our service to bridge the gaps in community transport provision.

MCT was set up as a 'community-focused' travel scheme, with the support of Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE). GMPTE and Manchester City Council have remained firm advocates, contributing both financial assistance and training support, as our organisation has grown. MCT is part of the Manchester Community Transport Forum and is committed to Continuous Improvement in its service provision. We are currently working towards ISO9001 and ISO 9002, to drive the Quality Standards in our service and we are fully compliant with all the Health & Safety standards and regulations currently in force for community transport provision.

Shaping the future of Community Transport

Serving the community is at the heart of MCT's constitution. We operate a Customer Care Policy and all of our staff are trained to provide customer satisfaction. Click here to view our Customer Care Charter. Our board consists of transport managers and executives and unpaid non-executives. If you are interested in becoming a non-executive member of our board, and helping to shape the development of MCT in your community, then we'd like to hear from you. Please call John Perry, CEO on 0870 3899 554, for an informal chat about how you'd like to help improve community transport.
